What is RTM (= Replacement Tire Monitor)?

The RTM Technology is an innovative and dynamic tread wear indicator system that gives the user advance warning that the tire is worn and has to be replaced. General Tire strongly recommends changing tires before reaching minimum tread depth. This is to ensure the necessary grip to remain safe on the road, as well as an optimal performance of your General Tire Altimax!

How does this technology actually work?

The inscription „Replacement Tire Monitor“ is displayed three times on the circumferential rib of the tire. Before the tread reaches the minimum tread depth indicated by the Tread Wear Indicator, the inscription will change to „Replace Tire“.

After having a quick look, the driver is reminded that the tire is worn to the point where it represents a safety risk. At this point in time, it's time to replace the tire.
